Our next club member outing will be held on Saturday, October 14th when Judith Bradshaw Brown welcomes us to the Tool Barn in Hulls Cove. An extensive collection of antique hand tools and other antiquarian treasures is awaiting your photographer’s eye!

There will be opportunities for all kinds of photos at the Hulls Cove Tool Barn, Davistown Museum Sculpture Gardens, and surrounding two acres. We will be allowed to take photos inside the Barn, which includes the upstairs store with its antique and interesting tools and other objects as well as in the workshops downstairs where tools are sorted, repaired, cleaned, and priced. We can take outdoor photos in the Davistown Museum Sculpture Garden, other gardens, and the rest of the property which includes a green house, interesting breeds of free-ranging chickens, small ponds, and a stream.

The Tool Barn is located at 17 Breakneck Rd.* We are welcome from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Here’s a great opportunity to learn from and share with other club member as we step back in time. Imagine the terrific photos you’ll be able to submit for the November meeting slide show.

Note: This outing is limited to club members only due to space limitations.

*The Tool Barn GPS address is 17 Breakneck Rd. BAR HARBOR 04609. Breakneck Road is off Route 3, on the left 3 miles from Bar Harbor or, for folks coming from other places, on the right just after the Rt. 3 Crooked Road light beyond the Chart Room Restaurant. It goes between the parking lots for the Hulls Cove General Store/PO and wine store. The Tool Barn complex is the first one on the right, a big red house and barn. Folks can park in the driveway or the parking lot across the street. Once there, they should go up the driveway to the Barn and turn right to go up the ramp into the red house, where Judith will orient folks and have coffee ready. Here’s a graphic we use that may or may not be helpful or usable…
